PASSENGER'S STATEMENT.
jfO BLAME DUE TO PILOT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Commenting on the Southern Cross mishap to-day, Mr. R. T. Reid, who was a passenger on the monoplane, said it was a piece of sheer bad luck with no possible blame due to the pilot or the 'plane. "There were 12 of us inside, and nobody lost his seat when the 'plane heeled over," he said. "There, was absolutely no panic." Mr. Reid added that as the 'plane sank on the port side into boggy ground it was necessary to dig to open the cabin door.
