Details of the second Auckland ■wool sale of the present season have been supplied by the secretary of the Auckland Wool Brokers' Association, Mr. E. M. Edgar, as follows: — The following figures show the results' of the second Auckland wool sale held on January 20 last:—Number of bales offered, 22,522; number of bales sold, 21,661; total weight of wool sold, 7,632,5841b; gross proceeds, £148,450 4/2; average price realised, per bale, £6 17/1; per lb, 4.665 d. Some Comparisons. The following table shows the results of Auckland's second wool sale in recent years and provides striking evidence of the slump that has fallen upon the woollen industry, as well as the partial recovery shown last ni6nth:— Average Average per bale. per lb.
