WEEK-END PICNICS.

Several enjoyable picnics were held at the pleasure resorts round Auckland during the week-end. Motuihi Island was the spot selected for the annual picnic of Abel, Dykes, Ltd. There was an attendance of about 70 people. Results of the sports competitions were :—Ladies' guessing competition : Mrs. Kutledge. Ladies' nail-driving; Mrs. Paterson. Stubbing — The Post and Telegraph engineers held their picnic at Motuihi. Each child was given a toy, ice cream and sweets. About 350 people attended. The IZR picnic was held at Pine Island on Saturday, when there were between 700 and SOO present. During the afternoon Flight-Lieutenant Allen, from the Mahgere Aerodrome, gave an exhibition of flying over .the island. The sports results were :—IZR officials, 50 yards: Bill Ilindnian 1, -I.
