R. BENNETT WINS CUP. At the Passenger Transport Cup meeting held by the Papatoetoe Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club, at the Papatoetoe Stadium on Saturday, R. Bennett (Papatoetoe Club) won the trophy with 14 points (1 win and 3 seconds). Miss V Baird again lowered her own record of 2.43 4-5 by 12 2-5s for the ladies' paced mile, making the record now 2.31 2-5. M. P. Byrne's (Manukau) succeeded in lowering the 5 flving lap record (l-6th mile) to IF, l-ss, thus beating L. H. Dwight's time of 18 4-ss, and winning the sash.
