THE FLOATING PA.
(Sent in by Elsie I>amb, Pukenui,, age 17.) In the olden days, w}ien the Maoris were always at war, one Maori tribe had for it<3 fortress a small island in the centre of a huge swamp. There was only one way to get into the pa, except by boat, anfl there were always two stout warriors,"posted at the entrance. The pa was, never conquered and was always called "The Floating Pa."
