BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP.

UNITY THROUGH OUR CLUB. "Tamitt Wata," Kaitieke. Dear Peter Pan, —- The compliments of the season to von all, Peter Pan, Wendy, and the Budget family. " As this is the last letter I will write as an active member of the. Peter Pan Club, I take this opportunity of thanking you sincerely for all that you have done for me ill the past. The prizes that you have awarded me, and the extreme joj r , never to be experienced again, of seeing one's work in print for the first time, will never be forgotten. My enrolment certificate bears the date October 9, 192G, the day our club was founded, so you see, Peter Pan, Why it is hard for me to say farewell. Tlie working out of the weekly competition*, and the pleasant hours spent in writing short steries for the Budget I will miss greatly, but 1 still hope to spend many an hour with the Budget. It is through "Star .Twinkles" that I first came to hear of the League of Nations Union, ami overseas pen friends,< with whom I have found great pleasure in corresponding. Although I have only known the great majority of fellow Budgetites by name, I have always felt that there is a bond linking us together under the club motto. —"Be Loyal" —and 1 am sure that many a Budgetite like myself would like to see this bond carried on under an exBudgetites' corner, if not in the Budget, then in the "Auckland Star." Thanking you once again, Peter Pan, and wishing yourself, the Budget, and all fellow Budgetites future success. Ever in the spirit of comradeship, I remain, A sincere Budgetite, DUDLEY COLE. [I like your farewell thoughts, Dudlev, and hope that some day your idea will be able to be put into practice.— P.P.]
