CITY COUNCIL RETURNS.

TOTAL £15,920 IN JANUARY,

Building permits issued by the Auckland City Council during the month of January totalled £15,920. The new structure for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Symonds Street, for which the contract price is £8300, was the biggest contribution to the total, and was easily the biggest building job to be put in hand. There were seven permits for new dwellings, one of them being just over £1000.

The month's total is a little larger han for the same period last year, when lie permits aggregated £14,400.
