LARGE WINDOW BROKEN.

YOUNG MAN SENT TO GAOL.

Having previously pleaded guilty to a charge of mischief by wilfully breaking a plate glass window, valued at £26, and damaging three frocks worth £4, the property of John Court, Ltd., on January 24, Nathaniel Dudley (21), labourer, appeared for sentence in the Police Court this morning. Dudley had been remanded for medical observation. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, said this morning that an examination failed to reveal any mental defect. Dudley was unable to make restitution. "I can only assume that the window was deliberately broken," the magistrate said, in sentencing accused to one month's imprisonment.
