MATTER OF ROUTINE.
ATLANTIC AIR SERVICES
CAPETOWN, January 24.
The chairman of Imperial Airways, Sir Eric Gfcddes, speaking at Capetown, declared that within a few years air travel across the Atlantic will be a matter of routine.
"With the Atlantic conquered, air lines would cross the other great oceans," he declared. "Australia would be regularly linked with Britain, New Zealand with Australia, and Canada with the British Isles."
The British Empire was naturally suited for the development of such air services, much better than any other great nation, said Sir Eric. Therefore, he looked forward to the day when the Dominions, colonies and Britain would all become partners in this world-wide enterprise, and not merely co-operators with, and subsidisers of, a commercial company such as Imperial Airways.
