LEADERS CRITICISED. «I FEEL INDIGNANT." (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. "I am not at all perturbed about the situation," said Mr. A. J. when his attention was drawn to thetj statement by Mr. Forbes regarding hisli position in the Coalition party. "I have given my constituents art opportunity of expressing their opinion, and have received a unanimous and. enthusiastic endorsement of the indepen-* dent stand I have taken in the interests: of the people of the Dominion as a whole, and of my constituents in particular,", ho said. '"Really I feel indignant at the indecision and vacillation of the. leaders of the Government accelerating; the feeling of insecurity among all sec-i tions of the community, when the out-' standing need of the Dominion i&i returning confidence. '
" Business people, professional people, the investing public, the consumers, indeed all sections of the people, arc harassed beyond endurance by the evident lack of capacity on the part of the. leaders of the Government to make up» their minds." l
For his part, said Mr. Slallwortliy, lici had never pledged himself to change his;! mind as often as the Government liaitfj changed its mind. As the responsible,! representative of an intelligent con-j stituency ho could not do that.. In any] case, the Government had changed its.| mind so often, and the puce was so hot, that it simply could not be done.
