Cush at the end of November, it was arranged she siiouid remain in her old quarters to fulfil her engagement in the Great Northern Derby. Shu went to Ellerslie, where siie was unexpectedly beaten in the Christmas Handicap, but she duly won the Derby. Her trainer and former owner, Mr. G. Murray Aynsley, thought it probable he would receive 'listructions to ship the filly to Sydney from Auckland, and as time went on was prepared to find she v."as to go along with the yearlings purchased for Australia at the Xrentliam sales. A letter received this week, however, disclosed the fact that her Australian owner wishes Silver Scorn to race in the Dominion for sonic time yet, her breeder and former owner-trainer, G. Murray Aynsley. to remain in charge. 'She is engaged in the Great Northern Oaks and St. Leger to be run at Auckland at the Easter meeting, and it is intended she shall compete in those two events, after which she will be shipped direct to Sydney. It is possible that Silver Scorn will run three races in the South Island before them. She will be nominated for the Dunedin Cup and James Hazlett Cup at Wingatui next month, while a week later she may be seen at lliccarton in Middle Park Plate. TRIP CANCELLED. A. 11. Eastwood intended visiting Auckland for the Takapuna meeting, but the trip has been cancelled owing to the illness of his wife.
