A POLITICAL VISIONARY.
The ddath is reported of "Uncle Imrie," an 83-year-old carpenter, who has been an inmate of the Lipot Asylum in Budapest for 56 years. The mania which brought Uncle Imrie into the asylum was political, as he was inspired with the idea of creating a "united monarchy," consisting <jf Hungary, Austria, Bohemia, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria and Rumania, each with its separate king, who would swear allegiance to the deceased Emperor Francis Joseph. For • King of Hungary Uncle Imrie selected Archduke Joseph, father of the present Archduke Joseph. Apart from this dominating idea, which bears a curious resemblance to the post-war idea of a federation of Danube States, Uncle Imrie was quiet and industrious. He was a wood-carver of great talent, and constructed a remarkable set of furniture for the council room of the asylum, which he copied from the luxurious suite furnishing the council room of the High Court of Appeal. Uncle Imrie was oblivious of the changes wrought by passing years, and abused the "robber politicians" of Vienna till the day of hie death.
