SYDNEY WOOL SALES. l SYDNEY, January 23. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 12,456 bales were offered and 11,858 were sold. Also 1836 bales were sold privately. Under excited and general competition the market ruled very firm at the closing rates of last week. There was specially keen inquiry for line quality wools. Greasy Merino sold at 21% d. LONDON WOOL SALE. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 23. At the twenty-third wool sales 10,160 hales were offered, including 3821 New Zealand. Approximately 6100 bales were told. There was keen Home and Continental competition at full late rates. Greasy New Zealand crossbreds, Owetea. top price 934 d, average 8d; Seafunf, 8.1 tnd 5%d. Bradford k- quiet and unchanged.
