BILLY BOY'S PROGRESS.

I DEFINITE PROGRAMME ARRANGED. The crack steeplechaser Billy Boy is having an easy time at present, most of his tasks being confined to light exercise around the roads and hills. A definite programme has been mapped out for Billy Boy, who will make his next appearance at the Easter meeting, which opens on April 15. His preparation will then be con- ] tinued with the view of competing at the Great Northern meeting in June, where his chief mission will be the Great Northern Steeplechase, in which event he ran unplaced last season with 10.13 on his back. At the conclusion of the latter meeting Billy Boy will be shipped to Melbourne to contest the Grand National Steeplechase and other events at the Victoria Racing Club's winter meeting in July. He will afterwards return to the Dominion in time for the Grand National meeting to be held at Riccarton in August, where he was successful in winning the big steeplechase event last year under the solid impost of 11.13. The son of Archiestown is thriving well on the work he is now doing and should be in tip-top order for the approaching jumping scasou.
