A POWER BOARD INQUIRY. Some amusement was caused at this morning's meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board when Mr. J. Waddell asked what was the position of a local body in whose area there was a public lamp which was not being paid for? ' '' I The chairman, Mr. W. K. T. Leighton wanted to know if the local body was aware of the fact that the lamp, was not being paid for, and Mr. Waddell said it was. "Name?" asked several of the members, and quizzical looks were directed to the members representing the North Shore, Mr. Waddell said he could not at that stage disclose the name, but he was assured that the local body was well aware of the fact that the lajnp was not on the bill charged for street lighting. In answer to- further questions, Mr. Waddell said he would be prepared to give the necessary information later, and tlic chairman promised that the anomaly would be looked into. ,
