COUNTRY WOMEN.

The half-yearly meeting of delegates to the Bush Nurse and Housekeeper Auxiliary of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, was held at Tiniaru, when Mrs. C. C. Jackson (Wairarapa), Dominion president, presided over a large attendance. Other executive officers present were Miss C. K. Connor (secretary) and Mrs. J. Pow (hon. treasurer). During a discussion on the reductions by employers of housekeepers' wages, the president stated that it was questionable whether efficiency would not be impaired if a housekeeper was paid less than 2.3/ per week. In a Dominion executive report it was stated that during the last two months housekeepers had filled 04 engagements, against 80 for the previous period, as follows: North Auckland 2, South Auckland IS, Waitemata 3, Hauraki Plains 1, Bay of Plenty 2, King Country 3, Northern Hawke's Bay 2, Southern Hawke's Bay 1, Taranaki 1, Wangarfui 3, Wellington Central 10, Wellington 1, Manawatu 2, Wairarapa 4, North Canterbury 1, South Canterbury 3, and Otago 12—a total of 04. Mrs. Stoddart Otago) was added to tlje list of visiting housekeepers for the Dominion.
