AIRWOMAN SAFE.

LADY BAILEY FOUND. Forced Landing Made in Niger District. LACK OF PETROL. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, January 19. A message from Algiers states that Lady Bailey, who has been missing since she left Oran on Sunday on the second hop of an attempted recordbreaking flight to the Cape, has been found. The airwoman was discovered near Tahoua, in the Niger district, where she had been forced down through lack ol' petrol. Earlier dispatches from Algiers stated that extensive preparations had been made there for a search for Lady Bailey. The plans made provided for four mili-' tary aeroplanes to set out from Oran, two from Colomb Bechar and four from Gao at dawn to-day. Aided by civil airmen, the pilots were to explore the entire district and wireless the result of the search to Algiers.

Captain C. D. Barnard, the Duchess of Bedford's air pilot, who lias flown to the Cape and back, left London at dawn yesterday for Oran to take part in the search for Lady Bailey.

The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Mail" says the Trans-Saharan Company's wireless posts in the Gao Reggan reported that there was no trace of Lady Bailey. It was feared she*was forced down in Tanezrouft, the dreaded "desert of thirst" in the middle of the Sahara, 1000 miles south of Oran. She had no supply of water.
