40-HOUR WEEK.
GENEVA DISCUSSION. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 19. The International Labour Office Conference on the 40-hour week rejected the proposal by 31 to 21, there being 17 abstentions. A resolution* supported by .Government delegates asking for continued examination of the different aspects and methods of the working of the 40-hour week, was carried by 41 to 21 with seven abstentions.
