HIDEBOUND REGULATIONS.
Recently I purchased an Auckland tram way one-day concession ticket, which entitled me to travel on the cars between* the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and again from 0 P ,m ' until the last cars. In the evening it »»» raining heavily, so I boarded a car m «P . about six o'clock, but lam unable to the exact time. As I was not entitled to ° the ticket until 0 p.m., the conductor rel to accept it, and demanded a fare of 2d, W I refused to pay. I admit I had T ; read the regulations on the ticket, hut sider the conductor's manner was insult""* my only crime being that I had boarded car at three minutes to six.
