ON 'CHANGE.

FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. EXCHANGE RATES AFFECT VALUES. WAIHI'S SHARP ADVANCE. As was expected, the increase in exchange rates was promptly reflected on the Auckland Stock Exchange, and there was a sharp rise in securities representing interests that seem likely to benefit from the alteration. Thus Waihis, which had a late sale yesterday afternoon at 19/3, changed hands at this morning's call at 21/. Offers for Australian hank shares were raised, and there were buyers for Commercials at 15/, whilst rates for New Zealand banks were unchanged. Other Commonwealth securities reflected the change. Sellers raised their reserves for Goldsbrough, Morts to £1 4/6, and for Colonial Sugars to £53.

Government stocks showed virtually no chanjre. There were buyers for iVs's at £95 5/, and for olis's at £101. Tho Noon Call. Though parcels of only two ' different issues changed hands at the noon call, the tone was. brisk, with buying quotations in many cases showing advances. A large parcel of Wailiis changed hands at a high figure, £1 1/6, and bidding for them was keen. Sellers have reduced their demands to £1 1/9. Grand Junctions' have buyers up to 3/6 now, with sellers at 4/. Bidders for Golden Dawns mean business too, evidently, as buyers have climbed up to 4/6, while sellers have conceded Id, to 4/8. Colonial Sugars have buyers at £51 10/, holders £52 5/. Government issues are firming, 1038 and 1939. 4% per cent bonds having buyers at £95 10/, a 5/ rise.
