BASSETT'S BLOCK.
ACCEPTANCE OF TBNBEKS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, this day. The Government has accepted the tender of Mr. B. G. Smith, of Dargavillc, for the construction of ten four-roomed cottages, which will be erected on the recently-acquired Bassett's Block, West Coast. The total contract is in the vicinity of £2000, and it will give work to about ten local carpenters and joiners. In addition the timber will be produced at the local mills. The work of erecting the cottages should be completed within two months. The tender of Mr. J. Walker, of Tauraroa, for the ploughing of 105 acres on Bassett's Block has also been accepted. Mr. S. Liggett, of Tikinui, secured tlie contract for cultivating and nsowing.
