CHIEF STIPENDIARY.
RACING IN NEW ZEALAND. MR. C. GOMER APPOINTED. (By Telegraph.—Fress Association.) • WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. C. Gonier, at present chief stipendiary to the Western District Racing Association of Victoria, which controls about 130 clubs, has been appointed chairman of the stipendiary stewards' executive of the New Zealand _ Racing Conference. There were 64 applications. Mr. Comer is 46 years of age, is a native of Hawera, and was a racehorse owner in New Zealand before he received the appointment in Victoria.
