SNOW PLOUGHS IN USE,

RUGBY, January 18,
The heaviest snowfall experienced in Britain this winter occurred in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Wales yesterday. The snow was a foot deep, on the high Yorkshire wolds. Snow ploughs are being used.
Fo" in the Channel disorganised Southampton shipping, and the departure of the Berengaria for New York was delayed while the inc6ming Aquitania and other vessels were held up off the Isle of Wight.
GIBRALTAR GALE. MALOJA DELAYED IN PORT. (Received 12.30 p.m.) GIBRALTAR, January 18. The Maloja has been delayed for 24 hours by easterly gales. The passengers were drenched when disembarking and none were able to embark. Three lighters, carrying luggage and • cargo, broke away and two ran aground.
