SPREAD OF RAGWORT.
FRANKLIN COUNTY PROPOSAL Tly? ragwort menace is spreading to the Franklin County, according to reports made at yesterday's meeting of the Franklin County Council. The chairman, Mr. J. X. Massey, M.P., stated that gangs of unemployed relief workers had been put 011 to rid districts of this nuisance. It was suggested that after this year settlers who were indifferent about the eradication of the weed should be asked to pay the council for doing the work. Members agreed that some people did not realise the serious results which would follow from the spread of ragwort.
