FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES.

MARKET'S HEALTHY TONE

The tone on the local Stock Exchange continues quite healthy, and a satisfactory turnover is maintained, \osterday afternoon a good list of sales was put through, and this morning found a fresh lot of transactions completed before or at the 10 o'clock call. Government stocks are still firm, and buyers for s%'s have had to advance to £101 in order to obtain requirements. For 4%'s £91 10/ is still available. The banking section is firm and steady. ; The easing in New Zcalands has been checked, with buyers at £2 1/9; and holders asking £"2 2/3. commercials are firm, and offers to buy at 14/6 failed to bring any declaration from holders. Buyers ■, for Nationals, have moved up to £3 4/. Waihis continue firm, with buyers at 19/, but holders now ask 9tl more. The Neon Call. Bidding for Waihis was keen at the noon call. This morning the quotation was, buyers 19/, sellers 19/9. After the 12.15 call they were 19/3 and 19/5 respectively, showing that both sides were anxious to do business. Fourpence is a fairly _ large concession from a holder. After a sale of Australian Glass at £2 buyers remain at £1 19/, with sellers at £2 0/6. Colonial Sugar buyers have advanced their offers to £48, that is, 5/, while sellers have come forward at £49.
