LAKE PARADE.
SCHEME AT ROTOKUA, NEW RECLAMATION WORK. (From Our Own Correspondent.) ROTOKUA, Thursday. An important scheme, involving the reclamation and improvement of the foreshore of Rotorua Lake, in the vicinity of the wharf, will be commenced next week. With the funds available it will be possible only to complete a part of the scheme, but even this will add much to the attractiveness of the area between Ohineinutu Pa and the wharf. The necessary space will be attained mainly by the grading of Rangiuru Street in the vicinity. At present the lake front is practically useless. Scrub, raupo and rushes fringe the shallow water and only at a few places can the lake be reached for swimming or boating. When' the reclamation is carried out along the frontage of the Government grounds it should be possible to provide a beautiful parade which will be one of the features of the town.
