FINAL DAY AT ELLERSLIE.

EIGHT OTHER MEETINGS IN PROGRESS. GREAT STAR SHINES. JALLDY KARO AND WEATHERWISE WIN. There is a fair attendance at Ellerslie for the final day of the Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting. While the weather was dull at the outset the track was again in tip-top order. • There are seven other racing meetings (Marton, Stratford, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Oamaru, Southland and Greymouth), and one trotting meeting (Canterbury Park), in progress in various parts of the Dominion. At Ellerslie Jalldy Karo created a surprise by winning the Goodwood Handicap from the favourite, Azalea, and Gay Idea. The favourite again went under in the Sylvia Handicap, Fracas filling third place to Weatherwise and Impasto. In the principal handicap Great Star defeated Sunny Sky and Jaloux. Prince of Orange was first home in the Hurdles from High Pitch and Imperial Prince.
