German Heavy-weight Badly Punished.

FIERCE FIGHT'AT CARDIFF. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, January 2. The British heavy-weight champion, Jack Petersen, defeated the German, Hans Schonrath, who retired in the eighth, round of a fierce, two-handed fight at Cardiff. Petersen dominated most of the round*. Schonrath fought gamely, frequently penetrating the champion's defences, but tired under the terrific pace. Heavy punishment also affected him, one of his eyes being cut in the second round.
