WAIHI BEACH SPORTS.
The annual sports at the Waihi Beach were held yesterdav on the sands in beautiful weather. Fully 3000 persons were present. The principal event, the Richards Memorial Cup, was won by R. Quinlan, of Waihi. Results were:— Married Ladies' Race.—Mrs. Taylor 1, Mrs. J. Walters 2, Mrs. W. Tanner 3. Single Ladies.—Miss C. Cronin 1, Miss J. O. Menzies 2, Miss T. Menzles 3. Married Men.—\V. Walters 1, Prendeville 2. Married Men (over 45).—Hoysted 1, H. Sutton 2. High Jump (senior).—J". Frear (Te Aroha), scr, and M. Mudgway (Waihi), 4 inches, sft 9in, 1; Clarkin and Gardiner, Oft sin, 3. Junior: Wright, 4ft lin, 1; Mudgway, 3ft llln, 2. Richards Memorial Cup, 120 yards.—R. Quinlan 1, A. J. Ryall 2, D. Seath 3. Waihi Residents' Cup, 100 yards'.—A. T. Zenovlch 1, R. Quinlan 2. Stepping a Chain.—R. Stamp. Bowling at a Wicket.—W. Roberts.
