STREET PLANT RENEWAL.

At the final meeting of the year of the Waihi Borough Council last evening the balance-sheet for the last financial year waa received from the Audit Department certified as correct. The only approach to a "tag" was to the effect that there was no authority in law for the provision o' the street plant renewal fund.
The Mayor, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, congratulated the town clerk and. said that the provision of such a. fund was sound finance. The Municipal Corporations Bill confirmed this opinion by the inclusion of the clause authorising the establishment of a renewal and replacement fund.
