THREE REMANDS.

ESCAPEE IN COURT. Three men who appeared before Mr. W. R. McKcan, S.M., in the Polioe Court this morning were remanded. Frederick William Schluter, a labourer, aged 43, was charged with escaping from Mount Eden prison on April 29 l;jst. " "We are going to deal with him indictibly on th<it charge," said Deteetiv«Sergeant Kelly. "He esca<ped from gaol and then toured the country committing crimes." Accused was remanded to January 12. William Vernon Hammond, a motor driver, aged 32, charged that on September 13 he wilfully burned a motor car valued at £650, the property of Williamina Tate, was remanded to January 16. Bail of two sureties of £300 each was allowed. A Chinese gardener, Fong Sung, aged 20, charged with breaking and entering the dwelling of Tung Hing, at 256, Karangahapc "Road, and stealing a gold wristlet watch and £20 in money, was remanded to January 12.
