SECRET DISCLOSED.
MARIE BURKE'S WEDDING. LONDON, December 15. News of the marriage of Miss Marie Burke, the popular musical comedy star, to Guy Nelson King, formerly of Sydney, whom she met while in Australia in 1926, has just been made public. Referring at a party to her part as principal boy in the "Mother Goose" pantomime at Manchester, Miss Burke surprised her friends by introducing her husband as "my own principal boy." She says: "We were married a few weeks ago, but only my mother and daughter knew. I told nobody else, because, celebrations and ceremonies I abhor." Mr. King is in business in London.
