If the' Government is not assured of a majority in the Upper House by Tuesday to carry the Moratorium Bill without vital amendments, the Governor, Sir Philip Game, will probably be asked to make additional appointments. The number mentioned is between 15 and 20. ' A Cabinet meeting decided to adjourn the sittings of the Council until Tuesday in order that Ministers In tlic meantime could have an opportunity to formulate plans.
HOSPITALS CHAIRMAN. DISAGREES WITH MINISTER. (Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. J. R. Love,,chairman of the New South Wales Hospitals Commission, has tendered his resignation to the Government owing, it is understood, to a difference of opinion with the Minister of Health, Mr. R. Weaver.
UNDER-SUBSCRIBED. > FEDERAL INTERNAL LOAN. CANBERRA, Doccmber 7. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, to-day announced the result of the Commonwealth 3J per cent £8,000,000 internal loan, the lists for which were closed on Monday. The total amount subscribed was £5,080,000 by 4151 applicants. As the loan was underwritten by the Commonwealth Bank and the trading banks, the balance will be subscribed by them.
