(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, December 7. Gold is quoted at £6 8/1 per ounce. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Keceived 11 a.m.) LONDON, December 7. At the wool sales 7823 bales were offered, including 2006 New Zealand. About 5913 were sold. There was a good selection of Merinos, with active home and Ctjntinental competition. Bettor growths realised full l'ates. Crossbreds and inferior Merinos sold irregularly at recent lower rates. New Zealand greasy halfbred, Claverley, top price lid, average \QVsd; crossbred, Hakowliai, B'/ad and 7d. SYDNEY, December 7. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 12,402 bales were offered and 11,662 were sold. Also 366 bales were sold privately. There was excellent competition and good clearances. Prices were very firm. Greasy Merino sold to 19% d.
