GOLD OK RJECIiAMATJON 7 (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Wednesday. ■ The Thames Harbour Board met last evening, Mr. H. Lowe presiding. Mr. W. T. Walker applied for a further extension of prospecting rights over 45 acres of the foreshore. The Ruranui Golden Hills Company requested permission to deposit mining tailings on the foreshore, where Mr. Walker applied for protection of rights. The chairman stated that while the board wished to grant every assistance to any company winning gold, the foreshore must b© considered. Mr. H. H. Hicks desired to know which was the more valuable to the board—a reclamation or a percentage of the gold •won. Mr. N. Jonassen thought that the foreshore filled with the spoil would make a valuable acquisition. Mr. J. ■ McCormick stated that a lot of gold had been won on the foreshore, and with up-to-date methods more could be won. He did ndt favour filling in the foreshore. On th£ motion of Mr. E.
