GARDEN PARTY.
- Mr. John Court, of Hamilton Road, Ponsonby, gave a garden party yesterday afternoon to the Mothers' Club of the Community Sunshine Association. The guests were welcomed by Mr. Court and Mrs. M. A. Miller, w,lio, was in ,a cornflower blue frock and white hat. During the afternoon Sir George Richardson addressed the visitors. Competitions, games and a delightful: afternoon tea were thoroughly enjoyed by the guests, and a presentation was made to the oldest mother present, Mrs. J. Drummond, who has turned 81, and the youngest baby. Mrs. E. J. Sexton, .the convener of the .Mothers' Club, wore a blue flowered ninon and black liat. Mrs. Harold Court, vice-president, was in black georgette, white fox fur and black hat.. During the afternoon Mrs. Sexton, on behalf of the association, expressed a special vote of thanks to the new president, Mr. A. J. Stallwortliy, Nurse Wright, Misses Russell and Roynane, and to the ex-president, Mr. Court. The speaker said his generosity and kindness had no ending, and she wished him health and -a happy Yuletide from every mother of the Sunshine Club. Executive members present were:—Mesdames S. Kemp, T. Winks, McLaughlin, Eady, Miller, Marsh and P. H. Cavaye.
