MEMBER'S QUESTIONS.
SALARIES AND DIVIDENDS. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The affairs of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company were mentioned in. the House yesterday by Mr. C. Carr (Labour, Timaru), who gave notice of his intention to ask the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention had been, drawn to a newspaper report that five officers of the company had received over a period of ten years £256,000 in emoluments, while the shareholders received in dividends in the same period £261,000. He also asked the Minister if 'he would ascertain if one of the officers was a member of the Ottawa delegation, and if the figures quoted accounted for the company's policy of reduced wages, increased freezing charges and lower prices for stock.
