BRITISH OPINION.
OUTPLAYED, BUT BEWARE ! (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 6. It is generally agreed ill Britain that Australia was outplayed, but the critics warn England, to remember 1930. .The opinion is expressed that despite Larwood'a brilliance the bowling must be strengthened,- and ,it is predicted that Vocc wili be heavily punished. One critic says Pataudi's was probably the worst century in Test history. Neville Cardus writes: "We should not think we have easily the best team. if there is cricket in Australia the selectors will find it. Australia may accept one defeat, but will never admit we have tiner cricketers." The "Daily Telegraph ,, says that already it ia clear that the Australian selectors blundered in omitting Ironmonger, who still is the best left-handed bowler in the world and in the event of rain invaluable. It is obvious that the attack defending on Nagel, O'Reilly and McCabe is too monotonous. On his bowling merits Oxenham should be included in the Brisbane Test. Australia's hatting tail must be shortened in the absence of Bradman, as to carry live batting "passengers" is fatal.
