BY-ELECTION TO-DAY
MOTUEKA SEAT. HEAVY POLL EXPECTED. NINETY-FiyiJ BOOTHS. Motueka electors are voting to-day in the by-election rendered necessary, by the death of Mr. G. C. C. Black, M.P. The three candidates are Mr. K. J. Holyoake (Coalition), the Hon. R. McKenzie (Independent) and Mr. P. C. Webb (Labour). ■ The Press Association reports that fine weather prevails, the election is- causing keen interest, and a heavy poll is of Parliament who took part in the expected. Most of the visiting members campaign returned to Wellington last night. There are 9o polling booths in the electorate, and, especially, if the voting be close, the result of the election may not bo known until late, this evening. The result will be posted outside the "Auckland Star" office as soon as it is known.
