CONTROL OF NIUE.
TRANSFER TO BE MADE. (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Control of the island of Niue, one of the Cook Group, will bo transferred from the Cook Islands Department to the ■ External Affaire Department, according, to a bill which was introduced in the House yesterday. The change is made necessary by the fact that the Maui Pomare serves Samoa, which is under the External Affairs Department, and also Niue, and it is considered that more satisfactory results will be obtained by having.the Maui Pomare and the islands which tbe steamer serves under one control.
