BOXING AND WRESTLING.

LEYS INSTITUTE DISPLAY. Leys Institute Boxing and Wrestling Ciub gave an open night exhibition at the gymnasium last evening, when the large attendance showed its appreciation of the several contests in no uncertain manner. In the absence of the instructor, Mr. Harold Hogg, who had unfortunately met with an injury, the boxing was refereed by Mr. Tod Sampson and the wrestling by Mr. Jack Waters. The boxing bouts wore "no decision," owing to tho contestants going to the ring at catch weights. The wrestling results were:— C. Jones, N.Z. feather-weight champion, drew with W. Williamson, runner-up to Jones. Williamson secured first fall with a Ureek cross, and Jones evened matters with a Boston crab in the final round. R. Hobbs drew with S. Hobbs, one fall each, after a strenuous bout. These brothers mis things properly. Kisha Bana drew with Holland, no falls. Tupp and Carey drew, one fall each. H Roberts and Tupp drew, one fall each. Richardson and Roberts drew. - L. Murphy drew with B. Jones, no fall. In the boxing bouts (three two-inimite rounds) S. Allen and T. Soloman provided a fust and attractive contest. " Snorkey Gordon and " Tornado" Gordon, two voungsters, who are brothers, gave a splendid exhibition of scientific boxing. H. Meale and Snowy Baker gave a good show. J. Richards and M. ponagbiie, two midgets, went " hammer and tongs throughout the bout, and were given a round of applause for their efforts.
