DEATH OF MRS. G. D. GREENWOOD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The death is announced of Mrs. Greenwood, widow of the late Mr. G. D. Greenwood,' the well-known racehorse' owner. The deceased was formerly Miss Heleno Fodor, and was the author of " Gloaming, the Wonder Horse." Her father was a Russian and her mother, who was French, was a lady-in-waiting to the Empress Eugenie. Mrs. Greenwood came to New Zealand as a child, and was educated at the Otago Gills' High School. She later assisted in the management of a school for girls at Dunedin. AN IMPROVED GALLOPER. Tigerism beat a useful field of handicap horses in the Feilding Cup yesterday, registering his best performance to date. This was his first outing since he raced at the Auckland' spring meeting, where he ran a creditable race i.n the. Mitchelson Cup, but failed to see out the journey. He performed well in hack company last season, and, judged on his latest success, should be seen to better advantage before the season is much further advanced.
