* Mr. E. C. Turner returned from Wellington tins morning. Mr. Justice Herdman leaves for Hamilton this evening to continue the Supreme Court civil sessions. Mr. J. A. Hannah, chief sub-inspector of the Union Bank of Australia, left for Australia by the Monowai to-day. Mr. C. F. Duncan, of Melbourne, who has been on a visit to the Dominion, returned to Australia by the Monowai to-day. Captain H. Hollis, marine superintendent for the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, left for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon.
Major-General W. L. H. SinclairJ3uigess, general oflicer commanding New .Zealand Military Forces, came as far as l'rankton by the Limited express this morning. Mr. Godfrey Holdsworth- has been elected a director of the London board of the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd., in the place of Mr. Alexander Michic, who has resigned. Mr. G. L. Aickin, manager in Sydney for the Auckland firm of C. Aickin and Sons, Ltd., who has been visiting NewZealand, left for Sydney by the Monowai to-day. Sir W. D. Hunt, managing director in New Zealand for Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this morning, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Archbishop Averill left Auckland last evening to officiate at the opening ceremonies of the Nelson Cathedral on .Saturday. He was accompanied by Bishop West-Watson, of Christchurch, who came to Auckland to take part in the consecration of the Bishop of Melanesia. Archbishop Averill is expected back by the middle of next week. _________—
