FAITH HEALING.

HORSES, LAMBS, HENS.

MR. DALUMORE'S CLAIMS.

APPEAL TO PRIVY COUNCIL?

"Only to-day I was told of the recovery of a case of insanity. I prayed for this person a little while ago, and he has recovered." This statement was made by Mr. A. H. Dallimore at St. , James* Theatre last night. "I am out to demonstrate how Jesus Christ can and does heal the sick," he said. "We are getting prayer answered on wholesale lines."

Mr. Dallimore exhorted his audience to keep clear of the leaven of the Pharisee. Hundreds of persons could testify to complete delivery by faith from disease. If he were placed in the Star Chamber and threatened with the fires of Smithiield lie would not turn from his campaign. Hatred, persecution and calumny had been used against him and if he sued for libel he would be successful, but he would do nothing like that. If his hands were tied by laws and legalities he would take his case to the highest court in the Israel Commonwealth of Nations. "The Privy Council is my final Court of Appeal on earth," he added. "I will take my case there and settle it once and for all." (Applause.)

Mr. Dallimore said that a woman who had been a "backslider" had come to one of his meetings in the Town Hall suffering from- a terrible disease of the arm. The arm was so bad that medical men would not even lance it on account of the permanent wound it would leave, but she had been cured by faith. The only sign left was a slight discoloration. The woman referred to stood up and waved her arm. Another woman had asked him to say a prayer of four words. She wanted something to happen that was amazing. It was something of a private nature, and that afternoon she had testified that the miracle that had been prayed for had happened. Healing Of Animals. He had had a letter from a woman in Opotiki who was concerned for a sick horse, and the customary handkerchief had been sent. The horse had been turned out with others and for some days it had not come in for her to catch. Eventually the horse was caught. She placed the handkerchief on its back and instantly it galloped away healed, and full of life. A lady in Cliristchurch had sent for handkerchiefs and had written of tho healing of a sick hen, a lamb, a group of four lambs, a ewe, a child and an adult. There was a titter of amusement when Mr. Dallimore read out the .list of animal cures. "The reason I pray for cats, chickens; sheep, cattle and horses," said Mr. Dallimore, "is because the Lord said 'Anything in My name.'" Another case mentioned was that of a man who had his skull split by a bullet and had never healed. It was predicted that he would have to go to a mental hospital. He had come to the meetings and his skull was no longer split. He had been healed. He had gone before the investigation committee and had been subjected to "the third degree and worse." The man referred to stood up and confirmed what had been said. He had been promised by the committee X-rays and all sorts of things, he said, for two months, but had Received nothing—not even work. Mr. Dallimore advised his audience to keep as far away from the investigators as possible. They should stand on the safety side of the lirfe. The investigators might as well ask for literal proof of soul healing as physical healing. He announced that a petition was in circulation by certain citizens asking the right for his mission to be continued in the' Town Hall.

"Laying On Of Hands." . After the service, lasting from 7 p.m., to 9 p.m., Mr. Dallimore invited those who desired the laying on of hands to come on the platform. The large orchestra was quickly dispersed, tables were removed, and in the course of a few minutes scores of people from every part r of the theatre commenced to make, their way to the stage. Mr. Dallimore removed his-coat-and two assistants did likewise. Those wishing to be "healed" of sickness and trouble lined up like soldiers on parade. There were people of all ages from children of three or four years, to old men and women. When the stage was set the assistants took _up their position at the rear of the waiting rows to catch the "patients" as they fell. Mr. Dallimore then exhorted Jesus to heal, and with a snap of the fingers j and a touch on the forehead, and in many cases an apparent push in the chest, tho subjects went down like ninepins. Again and again the lines were formed up, and those who revived more quickly than others had to pick their way cautiously among the fallen on their way off the stage. One young man with a little boy of about four years fell like a log, but the boy remained standing, bewildered, his hand still clutching that of his father. There were some who did not fall and after a few words whispered by Mr. Dallimore they walked off. When the Doxology was sung a little before 10 o'clock, and the final curtain was rung down there were 20 or 30 people still lying on the stage, apparently in a coma, while in many, row 6 of the stalls people, mostly women, were lying back in their seats as if stupefied..
