TWO OCCUPANTS ESCAPE
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, Sunday,
Slight injuries were received by Dr. N. F. Boag and Mr. T. L. R. King, pilot and passenger respectively of a Moth 'plane, when it crashed oil the Miramar golf links this morning.
The machine, which is the property of the Marlborough Aero Club, stalled 011 a turn and went into a spin after crossing Cook Strait from Blenheim. Over Rongotai aerodrome the pilot was making turns to lose height before landing when the machine lost flying speed. The nose dropped immediately, and tha machine commenced to spin, striking a mound near the 16th tee on the golf links. The 'plane scooped a hole in the turf, and turned over on its nose, coining to rest with the wheels uppermost.
The two occupants walked away from the wreckage. Both wore bruised and Mr. King also suffered from shock. Ho was later admitted to the Bowen Street private hospital. The aeroplane was wrecked. The loss is a heavy blow to the Marlborough. Club, which had only one 'plane.
