WIN FOR EMUS.

MACHINE-GUNS BEATEN. (Received 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The Minister of Defence, Sir George Pearce, has ordered the withdrawal of the machine-guns used against the emus in the Campion district of West Australia. In the House of Representatives Mr. Lyons assured a questioner that the Government was not footing the bill for what a member described as "this farce," every round of which an interjector eaid had been won thus far by the emue.
