The chief item of interest on the waterfront to-day, was the arrival of the liner Mariposa from San Francisco and Los Angeles at noon. To-morrow the Zealandia is .due with passengers from Sydney, and the Karetu is also expected with cargo from Australia and Fiji. ' . Wireless advice from the Union Co.'s steamer Karetu states that she will arrive at Auckland from Sydney and Newcastle, via Suva, at 6 a.m. to-morrow. She will berth, at the Prince's whsrf. After discharge she will return to Newcastle. AORANGI'S FAST TRIP. Advice has been received that the Union Company's R.M.m.s. Aorangi arrived at Vancouver from Auckland on Thursday last a day ahead of schedule. She is to sail on her return trip on Wednesday, and is due at Auckland on November 27. NEW TUG AWARUA. The Bluff Harbour Board's new tug Awarua. which arrived at Duncdin from Scotland on Friday afternoon, is to dock at Port Chalmers for cleaning and painting before proceeding to Bluff. The tug is .claimed to be one of the most powerful in 'the world. AUiSTRALIND ON FRIDAY. To the agency of the. New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Australind will arrive at Auckland from New York, via Tampico, on Friday evening next, according to a radio report received to-day. She has general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. MATAROA REPORTS. A radio message from the S.S. and A. steamer Mataroa states that she will arrive at Wellington from London and Southampton at 8 a.m. on Thursday next.
