EWES WITH LAMBS. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") GISBORNE, this day. At the Gieborne eale fat sheep showed a further decline. Ewee, woolly, 6/, 7/4; shorn 4/, 5/11; no heavies offering; woolly, 6/9; shorn, 6/0, 6/11; 1 lambs, 6/9; second grade ewes, woolly, 5/5; shorn, 2/6 to 2/10. Stores: Very low values ruled, with complete collapse for ewes with lambs; Prices of dry ewes in fairly good order were:—Woolly, 2/7 to 2/9; shorn, 2/3; woolly hoggete, 5/10 tov6/2; shorn, 2tooth ewes, 5/ to 6/11; 2-tooth wethers, woolly, 6/9; shorn, 6/5; ewes with lambs, one counted, 6/3 to 7/5; generally, 5/ to 5/3. Some good pens failed to elicit a bid. Beef was unchanged. Cows, 45/ to 50/; heifers, 55/. OPOTIKI SALE. In sympathy with the downward trend o£ prices in the Poverty Ba£ and other districts, there was a slight 1 decline in the prices realised, for most classes at the monthly stock sale held at Opotiki. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—There was a good yarding 'of cattle, but only a few pens of sheep -were offered. There was a keen demand for yearling Jersey heifers and pigs, and values'were in advance of previous sale, but other classes of stock showed a decline. A total clearance wae effected under the hammer. Fat cows, 34/6 to £2 15/; store cows, 10/ to 19/; others, to 8/; yearling steers, to £1 1/; 2-year steers, to 29/; 3-year steers, £2 5/ to £3; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 7/ to £3 11/; yearling Shorthorn heifers, to 30/: 2-year Shorthorn heifers, to £2 2/; springing cows, £2 2/6 to £6 12/6; springing heifers, to £3; fat hoggets, m.s., to 10/6; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 9/4 to 10/1; weaner pigs, 10/3 to 12/; store pigs, 21/
