SHEEP SKINS AND HIDES.
WELLINGTON SALE PR.CES. The usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow was held on Friday by the combined Wellington brokers. Good average catalogues of sheepskins were submitted, prices for drys being well up to the level of previous quotations. Salted skins showed no change. The inquiry for all grades of hides was. keen, values generally showing an improvement on late rates. Extra heavy ox hides advanced %d to Id, heavies and mediumweights, %d to %d; cows. %d to %d; yearling, %d: and sound calf. Mid. Better grades of tallow a slight advance, other descriptions selling at par.
