FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. WEEK OPENS QUIETLY. Business on the Auckland Stock Ex- ' change opened very quietly this morning, ■and the only sale recorded was one of Renown Collieries £1 shares at 2/6. In the banking section New Zealands were steady, with, buyers at £2 7/, and no sellers. Colonial Sugars were offered 5/ lower, •at £49 5/, and Waihis were available at 18/. Woolworth's pref. shares were firm, "■with buyers at £1 7/, but for New Zealand Breweries the highest bidder stopped at £1 6/6 . In Government stocks 4%'s were m ikeen demand at £97 5/. The Noon Call. This morning's tone was again evident at the noon call. There were three sales, two during the morning and one only in the room. That was one of 1937 5% per cent stock (September maturity), at £100, 5/ below the last sale in October. A parcel ■of Kauri Timbers changed hands at the reported figure of 12/6. Buyers now are 12/3. with sellers 12/9. Bidders for Australian Glass are willing to give £2, with holders at £2 1/3, a 'concession of 3d. " Other sections are quiet, Australians holding their own.
